St James Park (known as St James Park (Exeter)) is a suburban railway station in Exeter, Devon; it is best placed for St James Park football ground, home of Exeter City Football Club.

Layout[]

There are 2 platforms, linked by a road bridge.

Access to Platform 1 is via a steep walkway and steps, whilst access to Platform 2 is via a steep ramp. These are unsuitable for passengers using wheelchairs.

Facilities[]

A waiting shelter is provided on both platforms.

There are no ticket purchasing facilities; you must buy a ticket on the train, at your destination or interchange station.

  • GWR: Exmouth - Paignton/Barnstaple*
  • GWR: St James Park - Exeter St David's

*services to Barnstaple, peak periods only

From Platform 2[]

  • GWR: Paignton - Exmouth

Note, St James Park, during off peak periods is only served hourly, for a more comprehensive services, passengers may consider walking to Exeter Central.

Special instructions[]

If boarding a service on Platform 2, and the train is longer than 2 coaches, you will only be able to board the train through one door, towards the front of the train (nearest the entrance). Passengers should ensure that any prams or buggies are folded before boarding.
