Digby and Sowton is a suburban railway station in Exeter, Devon. It serves the residential areas of Digby and Sowton Industrial Estate. It is one of 2 stations near Sandy Gate Rugby Ground, home of the Exeter Chiefs RFC.

Layout

Digby and Sowton has one platform, accessed by footpath only from Clyst Halt Avenue or Apple Lane.

Facilities.[]

A self service ticket machine is provided at the entrance to the station, along with a waiting shelter and cycle lockers.

There is a car park on Clyst Halt Avenue, and a footpath link to Sowton Park and Ride on Sidmouth Road.

Services[]

Services towards Exeter run from left to right as passengers face the track; whilst services to Exmouth run right to left.

Digby and Sowton is served by every train, however passengers for Polsloe Bridge, St James Park, Exton or Lympstone Commando will have an hourly service during off peak periods.

Bus Connections and PlusBus[]

Bus stops are located on Clyst Halt Avenue or Digby Drive (over the footbridge).

Digby and Sowton is not a PlusBus station.

Penalty Fares[]

Digby and Sowton is a Penalty Fare station; you must have a valid ticket before boarding the train.

Special Rugby Match Arrangements[]

When rugby matches are played at Sandy Park, special operating arrangements are in place.

Before the match, some services may not stop at Digby and Sowton, but call at Newcourt instead.

After full time, services that call at Digby and Sowton operate pick up only in the Exeter direction; services towards Exmouth will not call. Passengers for services to Exmouth must instead walk to nearby Newcourt station.
